Thursday Bailey turned 3 months old! What an interesting 3 months it has been! We continue to see lots of big changes in her. She has really great control of her head now and can hold it up for even longer periods during tummy time. She can sit up with the assistance of several pillows propped around her of course. She will also push up with her legs when we hold her in a standing position. She's definitely growing stronger every day! She's gaining more and more control over her little hands. She has started grabbing hold of pretty much anything that is put in front of her... rattles, stuffed animals, her bottle, our hands, etc. And of course it's all going straight into her mouth. She is talking more and more and has even started to laugh, which I think is one of the cutest things I've ever heard! It is so much fun to watch all of the new things she discovers on a daily basis!
Although this month has been filled with so many good things it has also been a tough one. Over the past 2 weeks we have noticed Bailey eating less and less. She gradually got to where she was only eating about half of what she would normally eat. At first we figured that this was a phase, but it continued to get worse. We started to get concerned about her losing weight and/or becoming dehydrated. We decided to take her to the pediatrician when she started screaming (almost like she was in pain) every time we tried to feed her. The doctor couldn't find anything out of the ordinary in her physical exam and recommended that we do a few blood tests and a urine test. Most of the tests came back normal, with the exception of her metabolic panel which showed elevated potassium and liver enzyme levels. We went back to the doctor and redid the blood test. She was such a brave girl and didn't cry one bit when they took the blood from her little arm! She just smiled and made faces at the nurses! The new test came back showing that her potassium levels were normal, but her liver enzyme levels were still high. Basically basically this means she has an infection in her liver. We were SHOCKED to say the least! The doctor said that there are a couple viruses that typically cause this in babies her age. The doctor said that in addition to these viruses irritating the liver they can also cause "mono like symptoms"... loss of appetite and tiredness, which she is definitely experiencing. We are waiting for more test results to come back next week to let us know what exactly is causing the liver infection. We are praying for good news.

We still have several things to do before the master bedroom is complete--crown molding, closets, curtains, bedding, etc. but I think we're off to a decent start. I can't wait for it to be finished!
