A, B, C...

Craig, Bailey and I traveled to Columbia for the weekend. Saturday was our dear friend Holly's baby shower. The shower had an alphabet theme and everything from the centerpieces to the refreshments had letters on them! The hostesses Kim, Kristy, Cullie, and Jennifer did a fabulous job!

New Carpets and Master Bedroom Redo Part I

At long last we have replaced our old, nasty, stained, mint green carpets in all of the bedrooms!!! I have been wanting to rip out the old carpets since the day I first saw the house and I can not tell you how excited I was to FINALLY tackle this project!

First we ripped out the old carpets in the guest room, nursery, and master bedroom...

... under close supervision from Sydney of course.
Next we removed all of the old padding...

... again with some help from Sydney!

Then came the installation which we decided was best left up to the professionals. We are so happy with the results! DEFINITELY a HUGE improvement over the old stuff!

We decided that while we had the old carpets pulled up in the master bedroom that we would FINALLY paint and make a few other improvements! I can't believe I've lived in this house for over 2 years and we haven't so much as painted in our bedroom.

So we tackled the messy job of patching , sanding, and painting the walls and ceiling...
...then Craig installed a new ceiling fan to replace the old ugly light that had been there before.

We still have several things to do before the master bedroom is complete--crown molding, closets, curtains, bedding, etc. but I think we're off to a decent start. I can't wait for it to be finished!

2 Months!

This past Thursday Bailey turned 2 months old! At her pediatrician appointment that morning she weighed 10 lbs. 14 oz. (50th percentile) and measured 23 inches long (75th percentile). She is also in the 75th percentile for head measurement. Our little girl sure is growing!

In the past month we've experienced a few different milestones. The biggest being that Bailey started daycare which has been such a great experience for both her and me. She really seems to love it and all of the ladies there absolutely love her. Plus, the daycare is next door to my office, so I can check in on her as much as I want. The situation is pretty perfect! She is such a happy little girl! A few weeks ago she started rolling over from her tummy to her back! She is so interested in everthing that's going on around her. She is almost always smiling. She's got a lot to say so she coos constantly! She wiggles a lot and loves to watch herself in the mirror as she throws her arms and legs around! She LOVES laying on her mat to play... she can entertain herself ther for 30 minutes or more while I get work done! She has started grabbing a rattle when I hold it in front of her and shaking it all around (although occasionally she'll bang herself in the head with the rattle due to her lack of refined motor skills... but practice makes perfect). What a fun time we're having with her! We just can't wait to see what lies ahead for us!
