5 Weeks 2 Days...

Sunday, our dear friends Misy and Rob came to visit with their beautiful daughter Maelen. Misty decided to snap a few pictures of Bailey during the visit. Naturally, I wanted to share the results with you all... enjoy!

What sweet little toes!

Sweet little fingers too!
I have a feeling she's going to hog the bathroom when she's a teenager...
she ABSOLUTELY LOVES to look at herself!

She was totally checking out her daddy!

Happy 1st Month!

Monday, Bailey turned 1 month old. At her pediatrician appointment that morning she weighed 9 lbs. 6 oz. and she measured 21 1/2 inches long. The doctor said that she is in the 50th percentile on weight, height, and head measurements... so she is right on track!

Craig and I have noticed some significant changes in Bailey over the past couple of weeks. She now sleeps around a 6 hour stretch at night before waking up to eat!... she is spending much more of her day awake and taking in the world... she now watches objects and faces very intently... she has much more control over her head... she has begun to enjoy bath time... she absolutely loves looking into the mirror... and she has even begun smiling when we talk to her!

What a cheesy smile!

Her favorite sleeping position

I can't wait to see what changes and surprises she has in store for us in the next month!

3 Weeks

Tomorrow Bailey will be 3 weeks old. It really doesn't seem like it's been that long since she arrived... maybe this is due in part to the sleep deprivation! Here are a few pictures of her from over the past week or so. Enjoy!

The Past Few Days...

...have been busy to say the least. Bringing home Bailey and celebrating Christmas have kept Craig and I hopping. But it's so worth it and I don't think either of us would have it any other way! Here are some pictures taken over the past few days at home.

she wasn't really a fan as you can tell
But she did love the warm towel after her bath was finished!

FINALLY!!!

Bailey Anne Marie arrived by c-section on Friday, December 18th, 2009 at 4:01 p.m. in the middle of the biggest snow storm to hit Kingsport since the early 90's. She weighed 8 lbs. 8 oz. and measured 21.5 inches long. She has a full head of blonde hair and beautiful blue eyes. I was not expecting to have a c-section, but after about 7 long hours of strong contractions and only progressing from 4 cms to 5 cms we determined that a traditional delivery just wasn't going to happen... Bailey was just too big to fit through my pelvis and in order to make sure that both she and I would be okay we made the hard choice. I'm so glad that we did make this decision after she was delivered and her cord was wrapped around both her neck and her arm. Had we continued trying to go through with a regular delivery it could have been VERY bad... what a blessing in disguise.

We were discharged from the hospital on Monday. We were hoping to go home Sunday, but our house lost power and was without heat Friday through Sunday due to the "Blizzard 2009" storm. I must admit that although it was nice to have the wonderful nurses and staff at the hospital available to us any time we needed them, it felt really nice to finally bring her home! Life for Craig and I really has changed drastically! The Johnson & Johnson commercials are so true when they say "having a baby changes everything"... but definitely in a good way! We just adore her!

Anyway, here are some pictures from the past few days... enjoy!

Love at first sight
Our first family photo with Bailey screaming in my ear... just lovely!

After being bathed Bailey was broughy back to us by the nurses inside a Christmas stocking wearing a Christmas hat

Look at all of that hair!

What a pro!

All bundled up and ready to brave the cold weather... the looks like the kid from the Christmas Story movie that can't put his arms down because he's got so many winter coats on!
Our thanks to all of you for your kind thoughts and words over the past few days. We can't wait to introduce you all to Bailey!
