Back in Black!

As I mentioned before our old roof just wasn’t cutting it (as in it had multiple active leaks)… not to mention it was really ugly (I can’t tell you how many times we got flyers in our mailbox or on our front door for roof cleaning services… totally not kidding).   So after realizing the impending threat that our leaky roof posed to our newly sheet rocked ceilings in the family room we sprung in to action and hired a roofer!  Unfortunately, the Easter holiday and the unpredictable weather last week delayed the beginning of the roofing project until this past Wednesday.

But it was definitely better late than never, because look at the difference a new roof can make!

Before… with nasty, streaky gray shingles…

…and after… with new 30-year black architectural shingles!

Don’t the new shingles look A-MA-ZING?  What a big HUGE difference it makes in the overall curb appeal for the house!  I just love how the roof now ties in with the black shutters and front door that we installed a few years back (read more about how we installed the shutters here, here, and here… and more about how we installed the front door here and here).  Finally!  The outside of the house seems to be starting to come together!

Now… if only we could get our big front landscaping plans underway.  Not to mention paint the trim/siding, replace the back sliding glass door with French doors, replace the windows, new gutters, and so on and so forth.  *Sigh*  I guess there’s always next year the next five years.

And, P.S. I LOVE those cute lights hanging on the pergola! They SCREAM wine time! :)
