More Snow!

Friday night we had another big snow storm hit the Tri-City area. What a special way to commemorate Bailey turning 6 weeks old by recreating the snow storm she was born in... thankfully this time we didn't end up losing power at our house for 3 days. Anyway, the prediction was 7-12 inches for the area and boy did this storm deliver! We went to sleep Friday night with just a very light dusting and woke up Saturday morning with around 8 to 8 1/2 inches. The snow continued most of the day, so I'm not sure what we ended up with by the end of the day.
To put it in perspective, just look at the layer of snow on our patio set!Believe it or not this is AFTER the snow plow
came through several times to clear our street.

Sydney, as usual had a blast running around and eating mouthfuls of snow!

Today the sun decided to come out and the snow began to melt a little, so we decided to bundle Bailey up and snap a couple quick pictures in the snow. Many thanks to GB for the warm baby sweater and to Nanny for the lovely cap and blanket! They kept our little snow angel nice and toasty!
This winter has turned out to be the snowiest winter Kingsport has seen in a very, VERY long time. It's certainly the snowiest winter I have ever experienced! I wonder what the rest of the season has in store for us?

Dinner and Jazz!

Every Thursday night the Atlanta Bread in Johnson City hosts a jazz band. Our friends Misty and Rob discovered this several weeks ago and loved it so much that they have turned it into their Thursday night dinner routine. They said that their daughter Maelen loves the music and that it totally mellows her out. They have been inviting us to join them for the last few weeks now, but it just never seemed to work out where we could go. Our other friends Kellee and Jason have gone the last couple of weeks with their baby Connor. He too seems to really enjoy the music. We were so excited to be available to join the rest of the group this week for dinner and jazz. Bailey seemed to enjoy herself. She only fussed a little towards the end of the night when she was fighting her sleepiness. After a few minutes of being held by Misty she quickly gave in. We had a great time and hope to be able to join the group for dinner and jazz again soon!

Time for the baby swap. Craig with Maelen... she just kept staring at him trying to figure out who the heck he was! Misty with Bailey

5 Weeks 2 Days...

Sunday, our dear friends Misy and Rob came to visit with their beautiful daughter Maelen. Misty decided to snap a few pictures of Bailey during the visit. Naturally, I wanted to share the results with you all... enjoy!

What sweet little toes!

Sweet little fingers too!
I have a feeling she's going to hog the bathroom when she's a teenager...
she ABSOLUTELY LOVES to look at herself!

She was totally checking out her daddy!

Just Because...

...she's so darned cute...
...I decided to share these pictures with you all!

Happy 1st Month!

Monday, Bailey turned 1 month old. At her pediatrician appointment that morning she weighed 9 lbs. 6 oz. and she measured 21 1/2 inches long. The doctor said that she is in the 50th percentile on weight, height, and head measurements... so she is right on track!

Craig and I have noticed some significant changes in Bailey over the past couple of weeks. She now sleeps around a 6 hour stretch at night before waking up to eat!... she is spending much more of her day awake and taking in the world... she now watches objects and faces very intently... she has much more control over her head... she has begun to enjoy bath time... she absolutely loves looking into the mirror... and she has even begun smiling when we talk to her!

What a cheesy smile!

Her favorite sleeping position

I can't wait to see what changes and surprises she has in store for us in the next month!

3 Weeks

Tomorrow Bailey will be 3 weeks old. It really doesn't seem like it's been that long since she arrived... maybe this is due in part to the sleep deprivation! Here are a few pictures of her from over the past week or so. Enjoy!
